Free training for newcomer women ready to build skills, confidence, and career opportunities in Canada’s hair and beauty industry.
The Hair & Beauty Workforce Integration Program is designed to support newcomer women who are interested in building a career in the hair and beauty industry.
Starting in January 2027, participants will receive hands-on training in hairstyling, braiding, and natural hair care while also developing English communication skills, Canadian workplace knowledge, and employment readiness.
This free program helps women build confidence, strengthen professional skills, and explore both employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
This bilingual program supports French-speaking immigrant and newcomer women in Alberta who are interested in careers in the hair and beauty industry. Participants will receive hands-on hairstyling training, workplace English development, employment-readiness support, and supervised practical experience to help them pursue employment, apprenticeships, and future licensing opportunities through accredited hairstyling institutions such as MC College and other recognized training providers in Alberta.
Why We Are Offering This Program?
Many newcomer women arrive in Canada with valuable talents, experience, and entrepreneurial ambitions, yet often face barriers to employment, workplace integration, and economic participation. Language challenges, limited Canadian work experience, and a lack of industry connections can make it difficult to secure meaningful employment or start a business.
The Hair & Beauty Workforce Integration Program was created to help bridge these gaps.
The hair and beauty industry offers a unique pathway to economic independence, entrepreneurship, and career growth. Through this program, participants gain practical technical skills, improve workplace communication, and develop an understanding of Canadian workplace culture and expectations.
Our goal is to empower newcomer women with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to successfully enter the workforce, pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, and contribute to the economic and social well-being of their communities.
By investing in women, we are investing in stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger future for Canada.
"At Canadian Women in Action, we believe that when women are empowered with skills, opportunities, and support, they become catalysts for positive change within their families, communities, and the broader economy." - Canadian Women in Action team
