Please join us on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 6 pm- 7:30 pm or a pertinent discussion on the effects of COVID 19 on Mental Health for children and families going Back to School.

As part of our #COVIDSTRATEGY we have put together a series of webinars to address the concerns and needs of our community, we have prepared, informative, practical, and relevant webinars to help navigate mental and social wellness post-COVID-19.

We have an amazing lineup of presenters from North America: We welcome:

(1) Dr. Kelechi Loynd from the US will discuss on how to cope with anxiety and the signs to watch out for children going back to school and their families. Dr. Kelechi has a special interest in mindfulness, biological psychiatry, and advocacy for mental health education and awareness. She has enjoyed working with children, adolescents, and adults in various sectors.

(2) China Sochi Ogbonna will discuss the Supports and Resources that are available for Students and Families. With over 20 years of experience, China/Sochi is a School Social Worker and currently works with Edmonton Catholic School District. She works with children, young adults, individuals, and families using an eclectic approach tailored to the unique needs of each new client.

(3) Cynthia Onyegbula will discuss the Public Health Guidelines for School Resumption. with over 20 years of experience, Cynthia is currently the Manager, Health Promotion and Protection directorate at Indigenous Services Canada, formally Health Canada. Cynthia works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high-quality health services.
