CCSG Program Criteria

 

The program has been extended to October 31 so students will have more time to collect their hours.  The program is based on total hours completed across the program not how many hours are accrued per week or month.  At the end of the program, the students will compile all of the volunteer hours they accrued and that will determine their grant.

  • Post-Secondary student currently enroll in a program

  • Someone who graduated in Dec 2019 or later

  • Someone admitted in post-secondary on a scholarship can also qualify

  • Starting in July 1st

  • Age 17-30 years

  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent resident or refugee (protected)

  • Ability to work corporately and independently on the initiative outlined by organization

  • Compensation: Up to $5000

Kids Peer Support Content Writer (20 students needed)

An exciting role to help bring skills development to kids, through creativity and innovation. Be part of a team to help create engaging fun workshops content to support the emotionally, social and mental well being of Kids. If you are currently enrolled in Education, Recreation, and Social Work post-secondary programs it would help you excel in this position if you are looking to do more. This opportunity can provide you with 200 hours of hands on work over the course of the program if you are a detail oriented, organised and self-motivated.

Location

Virtual: Flexible hours through engagement online from home.

Key responsibilities

Content creation that meet program objectives; conduct research, planning and implementing innovative approaches to develop program.

Skills Required

Strong usage of Microsoft application

Great oral and written communication skills

Independent and self-directed work skills

Interest in community development program

Excellent time management skills

Ability to consider and respond to the needs of our participants

Eligibility Criteria

Currently a post-secondary student returning to school in the fall 2020

Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or refugee (protected)

Between the age of 17 to 30 years

Ability to commit the organizational goals

Marketing Assistant (5 students needed)

Seeking a creative individual with a desire to be innovative and apply their marketing skills to make a difference. Excel in this position if you are an enthusiastic learner ready to bring valuable insight to a growing organization. This opportunity can provide you with 200 hours of hands on work over the course of the program. If you are a detail oriented, organised individual ready to improve your skills in market research, digital and social marketing and relationship building this opportunity is for you. An educational background in Marketing, Design, and Communication is an asset.

  • Update various forms of website content and tools

  • Assist with digital marketing and social media activities

  • Collaborate in innovative ways for the organization to gain exposure

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, present data and trends

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe, Creative Cloud Products, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign

  • Proficient on MS Office and G Suite products

Social Media Assistant (5 students needed)

 

Do you have valuable insights and perspective? BCW is seeking a Social Media Assistant. You would have the chance to bring your creativity as you enhance, update social media content for a growing organization. Your engaging ideas would help support social media strategy and visibility. The role requires a self-directed, organized, detailed oriented individual with prior experience who enjoy having fun with projects. Currently enrolled in Marketing, Design, Business and Communication post graduate program is a requirement.

Location

Key responsibilities

  • Create and update organization social media content

  • Collaborate with staff on marketing strategies

  • Update various forms of website content and tools

  • Assist with digital marketing and social media activities

  • Collaborate in innovative ways for the organization to gain exposure

  • Edit YouTube

  • Draw posters

  • Creating social media strategies,

  • Social media management,

  • Original content creation, Hootsuite, Mailchimp and Wix.

  • Researching given topics

  • Creating visuals

  • Caption writing, post scheduling, performance tracking, reposting, engagement with our followers and collaborating with teams within the organization to accomplish given objectives.

Skills Required

  • Social Networking Experience

  • Proficient in computer application including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong working knowledge of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and basic web technologies (e.g. content management systems, email)

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Good multitasking and organizational ability
