BCW The Covid - 19 Response Initiative

A Time of Crisis

The Covid- 19 Crisis is one that emerged without any warning and left all of us with a different outlook of life. When a global pandemic arises we must stand together and work together as a community to safeguard our lives together. As a  Community leader BCW was compelled to take action during this time.

Identifying Community Needs in a time of Crisis

The first step for BCW was to identify the areas of need within the community so we can gather our resources to help.
During this time we identified the following needs:

  • Information proving awareness and navigation of system

  • Business Development help for Entrepreneurs

  • Provision of Feminine hygiene products

  • Provision of baby products for Mothers

Partnership with Community Leaders

In identifying the needs specific to just women during this time, we were also faced with other vital areas of need within the Black community during this time. In order to ensure that no one is left out we are honored to be partnering up with other community Leaders and organizations.

BCW has connected with other organizations and community leaders to create a unified Black Community initiative in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, where each member / organization brings the resources they can offer in our community to help at this time. The Nile Vallee Foundation was the initiator of this initiative. The Africa Centre being one of the largest organizations has agreed to take charge in coordinating with all parties and being a central point of contact for all Community leaders involved in this Initiative while BCW is coordinating all initiatives about business.
